Today, the Meowton provincial election commenced, and it has since concluded.

In the first round, the European Parliament Party won with two votes. An independant candidate was eliminated.

In the second round, the other independant candidate gained a vote, tying with the European Parliament Party.

Because the European Parliament Party received more first-choice votes, the independant candidate was eliminated and the European Parliament Party won the election.

System of Vote

In this Meowton election, ranked voting was used. This means that voters had to rank the candidates in order of preference, then the candidate with the least votes is eliminated, their votes are redistributed and repeat.

Ranked voting is also used in other countries, such as Australia.
